In the article do we have the courage to stop this? By: Nicholas D.Kristof this article is about how why we can’t regulate guns as serious as we cars also how guns are too easy to buy and should not be able to. In the article it was a lot of facts and quotes from experts one of a important quote to me was “I grew up on an Oregon farm where guns were part of life and my dad gave me a 22 rifle for my 12th birthday” another important fact is more people die in gun homicides and suicides in six months that have died in the last 25 years. Another important fact in the article is we’re not going to eliminate gun deaths, any more than we have eliminated auto accidents and we could reduce gun deaths by one-third that 10,000 lives would be saved. I think that it is too easy to get a gun and you should go through a long process and you need to be declared a sane and stable person if you want to get a gun because crazy people should just not be able to get one it is harmful. This article reminds me of the massacre that happened in Colorado where a man came in a movie theatre and shot people this was a tragedy because innocent people got hurt. This article makes me think how dangerous people get when there upset and when they have a gun everything can worsen. This article makes me wonder if guns will ever be regulated like cars are.

In the article marijuana law just creates criminals by Hakeem Jeffries. This article is about how it might be against the law but it costs too much money to arrest everyone who is found with only a little amount of marijuana because it wastes less. This article includes opinions one states that “this is fundamentally unfair” by Hakeem Jeffries. Another quote says “a majority of an arrest happen in certain neighborhoods” also by: Hakeem Jeffries. I think everyone caught with a little amount of marijuana should not be arrested because it’s wasting money but I also think you should not   just be able to smoke marijuana because it can lead to heavier drugs that mess up your life.  This article reminds of a documentary on lifetime where a young boy was addicted to marijuana and smoked it for three years and he was in and out of rehab and know can’t get back to his normal self. This article made me think more deeply about the harms that marijuana causes and maybe marijuana should stay illegal because people should always be on point with what they’re doing. This article made me wonder about how much money is spent on things that’s not really important and marijuana is bigger issue than people think.

should 16 year olds drive?

should 16-year-olds drive? by:Ted gregory

The article should 16-year-olds drive?by Ted gregory. is about what is the right age to drive and does the age even matter when it comes to driving. this article has research from the insurance institute for highway safety and they think you should not be driving at the age of sixteen. the article also includes quotes one which says "I dont think it matters what age you are." from a sophmore at kinsdale central high school. another quote that stood out to me in the article was "were losing alot of teens on the road each year" this stood out to me because it's telling me important information about driving at sixteen. I personally think you should be able to drive at sixteen but only if you parents think you are responsible enough. this article reminds me of when my aunt and mom were having a discussion about what time my cousin that is seventeen should come in. this article makes me think about what age you really should be able to drive and if its really about the age is it the experience you should have before driving

Yay! Boo! So? Reaction to Obama win vary

By: Peter Mucha. Breaking news desk, Philadelphia daily news.

In the article Yay! Boo! So? Reaction to Obama win vary Peter Mucha includes opinions of how people feel and think about Obama’s win and how they felt about Romney and the election itself and how people think because he helped during hurricane sandy that he should win. The article has many quotes such as one from Burckhardt who says “I would have preferred to have a business man like Romney in the white House because Obama is not as fiscally smart or fiscally responsible.” Some people opinions are stating that they would have liked Romney to win. And some quotes such as a quote from Jackie Harrison who said “ I knew was barack was going to win” and that “he is more trustworthy and more of a people person.” I personally think Barack Obama is better that Romney because Romney was going to only help the higher class and not the lower class and its people already struggling and Obama has things to help the lower class like Obama care which helps you get a good health plan for you and your family. This article remind me of a big argument people have over Obama and Romney about would have been the better president and people who don’t want nothing to with our country because of our president. This article made me realize that the president and politics play a big role in the world because they always are in total control in our country.

Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?

By: Nicholas D.Kristof

In this article will climate change get respect now Nicholas D. kristof states how president Obama and Mitt Romney don’t really discuss the climate change? And that isn’t time to talk not only about weather, but also the climate.

This article includes opinions and quotes from the writer and governor’s the governor of New York stated “we have a 100-year flooded every two years now.” He is saying that the amount of flooding is increasing very fast. The opinion’s that the writer stated that there were no easy solutions, and need to invest in cleaner energy. I agree with him because we do need cleaner energy so the world can have less global warming. About this topic will climate change I think that is weather increasing every summer it’s not a good thing because it’s that hot and I also think that it’s nothing we can do about the climate change.

This article reminds me of my old science teacher she used to say we need to make a change in the world. And said if the temperature will still increasingly change that it’s not a good thing.  This article made me think more deeply about this topic because we really don’t know what is going on because people don’t care they think it’s just how weather is supposed to be.

A.D.H.D, Pills to help in school

Attention Disorder Or Not, Pills to Help in School
By:Alan Schwarz

In this article Attention Disorder Or Not,Pills to Help in school. Dr. Michael Anderson give kids Adderal to boost focus to kids with A.D.H.D. this article has a shocking quote from Dr.Anderson he calls A.D.H.D "made up"and "an excuse" this was shocking to me because he give out the pills and thinks it  nothing wrong with these kids.  I think A.D.H.D is a real disorder and not an made up excuse i say this because the symptoms they have for A.D.H.D kids really do those things. Like being Easily distracted and a Poor listener.
This article makes me think depper about why kids dont listen. first you think they just act out because they wanna be funny but that really might have A.D.H.D and you can maybe understand the person more.

teens texting

In An Article Texting May Be Taking A Toll By KATIE HAFNER, it states that texting may be a promblem for teens. and also states  teens are sending and reciving an average of 2,272 text messages per month and it is distracting teens from their homework. I think texting is not that big of a issue because even though i text i still get what i need to do done. it becomes a big deal when things happen like "Annie Wagner,15, a ninth-grade honor student in Bethesda,MD, used to text on her tiny LG phone as fast as she typed on a regular computer she noticed a painful cramping in her thumbs" this is a big deal because her thumbs can get really hurt and something could be wrong. this article reminds me of when i used to be in middle school and i use to be in class texting and never get caught. and it makes me realize that u should turn your phone off while in school. This Article made me think more about this topic in a different way because maybe you dont need your phone all the time.
