In the article do we have the courage to stop this? By: Nicholas D.Kristof this article is about how why we can’t regulate guns as serious as we cars also how guns are too easy to buy and should not be able to. In the article it was a lot of facts and quotes from experts one of a important quote to me was “I grew up on an Oregon farm where guns were part of life and my dad gave me a 22 rifle for my 12th birthday” another important fact is more people die in gun homicides and suicides in six months that have died in the last 25 years. Another important fact in the article is we’re not going to eliminate gun deaths, any more than we have eliminated auto accidents and we could reduce gun deaths by one-third that 10,000 lives would be saved. I think that it is too easy to get a gun and you should go through a long process and you need to be declared a sane and stable person if you want to get a gun because crazy people should just not be able to get one it is harmful. This article reminds me of the massacre that happened in Colorado where a man came in a movie theatre and shot people this was a tragedy because innocent people got hurt. This article makes me think how dangerous people get when there upset and when they have a gun everything can worsen. This article makes me wonder if guns will ever be regulated like cars are.

In the article marijuana law just creates criminals by Hakeem Jeffries. This article is about how it might be against the law but it costs too much money to arrest everyone who is found with only a little amount of marijuana because it wastes less. This article includes opinions one states that “this is fundamentally unfair” by Hakeem Jeffries. Another quote says “a majority of an arrest happen in certain neighborhoods” also by: Hakeem Jeffries. I think everyone caught with a little amount of marijuana should not be arrested because it’s wasting money but I also think you should not   just be able to smoke marijuana because it can lead to heavier drugs that mess up your life.  This article reminds of a documentary on lifetime where a young boy was addicted to marijuana and smoked it for three years and he was in and out of rehab and know can’t get back to his normal self. This article made me think more deeply about the harms that marijuana causes and maybe marijuana should stay illegal because people should always be on point with what they’re doing. This article made me wonder about how much money is spent on things that’s not really important and marijuana is bigger issue than people think.
